One of the reasons I love to write for this community Dear Reader,  Is that other then getting to see beautiful ladies with their bottoms beaten, that alot of us look out for each other.  If I see an issue with a site I tell the owners as soon as I can.  And quite a few people have done the same for me.  The one thing that has always amazed me is that the bloggers that support the community almost always support each other even though we are "competitors".  And for that Dear Reader I am thankful that I have the opportunity to entertain you with my less then perfect prose. 

Case in point Dear Reader.  I woke up early on Saturday to work on my renovation of my floors.  Before I began I sleepily made myself a pot of coffee and checked my email  My Dear Friend from The Cherry Red Report emailed me showing me a strange new site that had a tremendous amount of material of mine passing it off as his own.  At first I mistakenly thought it was Spanking Server trying out a new blog since the URL looked similar but Karl and Friends (thank you guys! I won’t mention your name but you know who you are).  Told me that it was indeed not theirs and this (ahem) person was doing something called Hot-linking.  Which for those of you not up on webspeak means that not only was this person stealing my writings but indeed stealing my bandwidth in the hopes of making a quick buck. 

Now Dear Reader,  We only have our reputations online.  If one acts in a honorable manner I would like to think that success will follow.  This is why I give free links to sites just starting out and generally try to be honest with you.  Personally I don’t mind if people "hot link" to me as long as they give the proper credit.  But I draw the line when they pass my work off as my own. 

Thanks to Karl and crew at Spanking Server, they taught me how to combat this.  In my research I found that I could also have a little fun with the offending website. While I will not give this "person" the benefit of a link.  I did manage to take a rather amusing screenshot of his site to share with all of you.  This was up for pretty much all of the day yesterday.  I would have loved to see the look on his face when he saw his website.

Now  Dear Reader I have always taken to the philosophy that one should not get mad, but even.  Which while my little party trick made me feel much better,  our Friend in question once he realized he had been caught simply took down his hotlinks to my site and stole from some of the other hard working bloggers.

You might find this amusing Dear Reader, but like every other American I have an unnatural obsession with my lawn.
