An RA (after having a bad day and being in a terrible mood) is patrolling their dorm when they come across a couple of students, who are already on their last warning, up to no good and…………….Yep that fantasy works for me

Thank you very much Brush for your continued support, but especially now when it’s all a bit difficult for us at the moment. RA or Resident Assistant runs the dorms in US colleges. Usually they are responsible for a floor. Generally they are paid by room and board and have the power to issue “write ups” which can result in a fine or expulsion from the Dorm.

“I have absolutely no idea what a prefect is” - A prefect is an older student, usually a sixth former (17 - 19 years old) who has been given powers to monitor and control the other pupils in the school, as an aid to the teaching staff. As a prefect in a state school, in the 1980’s, this meant a rather boring round of giving up your lunch hours to perform playground monitoring, staying after school to help out teachers lug furniture or build stage sets, stuff like that and escorting sticky vomiting little kids down to the school nurse’s office. But in boarding schools in the earlier part of the 20TH century (and this is closer to the fantasy prefect that I used to love to role play) many prefects where allowed to enforce their authority by swinging a cane or tawse and in some schools, who had the fagging system, they where allowed to pick a younger pupil to be their personal servant but because they where in a position of authority and expected to “set an example” to the younger pupils they could expect to be dealt with very harshly if they where caught breaking the rules themselves.

You know I have no idea what an RA is.
