Lets begin the second edition of The Spanking Updates of the week with Dallas Spanks Hard, Shall we Dear Reader. Now Dallas is releasing his spanking movie Rawhide on his site as of late as part of his regular updates. If you remember I was quite fortunate to review this incredible butt burning of Audrey Knight (Rawhide Movie review with Audrey Part one and Part two). Now given 60 bucks for the movie is a bit steep but considering what Dallas put into it I would argue its fair. But if Physical media is indeed not your thing (it really isn’t mine, I prefer to keep my spanking material virtual for safety sake). It is now available as part of his weekly download. I can say without a doubt Dear Reader should you be into incredibly hard spankings, then his indeed will be quite enjoyable. (well for everyone but Audrey). I suspect many colleges would get a deluge of highly qualified applicants for professor ship if bare bottom spanking were indeed allowed for students who either skipped or were generally failing a class. As an added bonus I would also suspect that the college graduation rate would indeed rise to unprecedented levels. And I have a (very) large collection of spanking videos (tapes and DVDs) that I enjoy accessing from time to time. So, when you say that 60 dollars is a fair price for one of Dallas’ videos on disc, I’ve got to step in and say that, as good as Dallas’ stuff is, it is no better than videos from Shadow Lane… and the SL videos are retailing for HALF that price! Twenty-nine ninety-five, in fact. Dallas is a great friend to the spanking scene; but I still think 60 bucks per video is too high. Cheers,

Dan….count the number of spanks in a SL video as opposed to the number of words. then do it with any one of mine Do the math…My customers are people who want to own a spanking video in their collection that they can ( and do ) watch over and over again..In the case of my customers HARD spanking is what they desire ,with the most beautiful girls on the web. Do people walk into Porsche dealerships and say ” I don’t want this 911… because I can get a very well built Jetta down the street?” I have a niche for my customers and they theirs. Dan N. I am a little puzzled. These are your words The luscious Audrey Knight is reduced to tears by Dallas, who hits no part of her other than her gorgeous buttcheeks. Dallas… Yes, those are my words. I did say that your “Rawhide” video is the best I’d ever seen. That even includes your “L.A. Spanking Society” videos (parts 1 and 2) and “Michelle’s Bad Day,” all of which are in my videotape collection. But of course all I have of “Rawhide” is the clip you allowed to appear on the Internet. I’m sure that the entire video would be awesome. But sorry, not sixty bucks worth of awesome. I recently bought a Shadow Lane DVD — for $29.95 — called “How Spanking Saved the Planet.” In that one, a newcomer named Will West spanks Beverly Bacci, and lands more than 3,100 swats! So SL videos can, and do, deliver the intensity and length of a good spanking for half the price of a Dallas vid. Cheers,

I think I need to comment here since I opened up the can of worms. Dan, I think what we are seeing here is the difference between a high volume publisher like Shadowlane vs more of a boutique approach with Dallas SL puts out what, 40 titles a year perhaps? A few are excellent, Most are quite good, and a few are eh. Nothing against SL, its just the nature of putting out that many titles. SL has the distribution channels, the ability to shoot more than one movie at a time etc. Dallas on the other hand puts out what, maybe 3 movies a year? He takes a careful approach to cater to the needs of his customers for his brand of spanking. With this type one can expect to pay more such a title since unlike SL if he gets it wrong that’s a few months of wasted work. I am not going to get into which is better. Both houses are excellent in my opinion. Both houses have their pricing up front and are quite honest about it. Both price according to what they feel the market will support. If they don’t get it right, the consumer will do the voting with their dollars.

Exactly… I have actually put out 7 already this year ( only because I have a partner like Sabrina helping me now ) Supply and demand is the key to commerce. I have a certain client base that I have been dealing with for years. I know who my customers are. We put a hand written note in all orders because I have this kind of relationship over the years with them. I have had many customers order replacement DVD’s. when titles are lost or damaged. BTW..even in this economy…DVD and downloads sales are UP. I guess they have spoken already. Thanks B-Strokes D.

Just to back up Dallas, I also agree that DVDs should not necessarily always be priced the same. Ours are priced based on runtime, how many girls are in the film (ergo how much it cost to make), and how hard the action is. And I think that is the fairest way to do it, so it sounds to me like Dallas has it pitched just right.

Oy, do I want to get into this? I agree with all sides on this one. I have yet to buy a Dallas vid mainly because of the price, but I have wanted some. Now that he has mentioned the Kailee one for $25, I will go ahead and get that one. However, even with SL, I tend to wait for one of their 2 for 1 sales to come around. So far, I have twenty of theirs because of their rates. They are just more affordable for a guy on min wage. I also have 9 from RS. They fluctuate a bit, but they also have sales once in a while, and that allowed me to get one of their $50 movies at half price. Some of us just have to be budget conscious. Throw a sale. As for sales being up in a down economy, that is to be expected. Movies (all types), porn, alcohol and other forms of escapism always do well in bad times. More than ever, we need these fantasies to keep our minds off the real world for a brief time. It keeps people from jumping out of windows. You guys are doing a bang up job, by the way. You should consider yourselves to be doing a social service.

Let me put things in perspective. I went to Starbucks the other day ( I had run out of my coffee ) It was hot…I ordered a Venti macchiato.They rung up $4.55. What goes into the production of that coffee? A tablespoon of expresso… some milk… ice and caramel sauce. Did I say ..”Screw that I am going to buy some Foldgers Instant Crystals”? Supply and demand means this …As long as there is a demand…there is a supply.
