Well Dear Reader the final vote was posted for the 2009 Spanking awards yesterday, so not a thing to do but wait for the results.  I would like to say I was quite hesitant to leave the awards for open voting but my fears were indeed unfounded.  While not all the voting will end up as I liked I could see no fraud in my IP logs.  So congratulations Dear Reader,  from now on the awards will be picked by you.  Thank you all for voting. 

Now that being said,  another thing that rears its ugly head time to time occurred.  Your Humble Narrator’s integrity.  You see,  a particular reader voiced his displeasure with the nominations in both Hardest spanking F/f and Spankee of the year.  While I thought letting you Dear Readers pick the nominee’s would silence any critics but facts don’t always mesh with reality.  You see in his or her discourse they even suggested that I was on the take from my friend David Pierson!  Now I have a pretty thick skin, you can call me any name in the book and at least half the time I will agree with you.  But on the internet we are a product of our reputations and I have worked hard Dear Reader to earn your respect.  Such a wild and unfounded accusation is indeed worthy of a response.   So I guess it is indeed time to reaffirm to you Dear Reader what I will and will not do at The Spanking Spot. 

First of all contrary to what my misguided reader asserts I take no money or gifts from the spanking websites you see upon these pages.  I do however on occasion accept promotional dvd’s and complementary passwords.  As many of you know our spanking habit can get expensive and while optimally I would prefer to pay for all these sites for the sake of appearances I indeed cannot afford to. Now one could say I could be biased toward such sites,  and one would indeed would be reasonable in their thinking.  At least until you read my reviews and comments on their myriad of spankings.  If I don’t like what I see,  I say it.  Sure I have been yelled at by perhaps every spanking site owner at least once (including David Pierson)  but never have they ever tried to influence my opinion though denying access.    Furthermore I would like to believe that when I make a criticism I say why and how the spanking sites can improve.  Perhaps it was just common sense or perhaps it was my suggestions but I have been impressed on how many implemented changes that I proposed.  So perhaps I offer a service not only to you Dear Reader but to them as well.  I hope this can only lead to more delightful spankings that we can enjoy. 

Now the question is do I make money from this site.  The answer as I told you in the past is yes I consider it small compensation for the hours I spend on this website.  But there is an upside to you Dear Reader.  Since I make some money from your purchases I feel beholden to you.  I believe in integrity,  and when I started this blog I did not want it to be like many sites out there with popups and redirects solely to sell you something.   I feel bad when you purchase something that on my recommendation didn’t get you your money’s worth.  hence the reason I offered everyone who purchased a subscription to The Spanking Couple though The Spanking Spot last year,  a subscription to another site when they ceased operations.  I have no regrets offering such a guarantee and will probably do so again should the occasion arise.

As for how those who were considered for the spanking awards were picked.  They were picked by YOU.  I think I included every nomination that you made in comments or emails to me (there was one that didn’t make it but that was because I couldn’t find the site).  If there were slots left in the nominations I of course filled them.  But to tell you the truth there were not that many.  And hopefully next year there will be none. 

So the bottom line Dear Reader is that I take my integrity and the integrity of The Spanking Spot very seriously.  My misguided reader is free to think or post whatever nonsense he or she believes.  I believe in unabated free speech so anyone is welcome to their opinion in the comments.  I think I have deleted or not approved 3 of them in the 3 years I have been running this blog and those were spam and some other inappropriate material that most would find offensive. 

So in closing Dear Reader I have once again put it all on the table.  I do hope I have addressed all the issues concerning my misinformed reader.  I do hope you will enjoy The Spanking Spot in 2010.
