Welcome! Dear Readers to the 2008 Spanking Spot awards! For the Next two weeks The Spanking Spot will be bringing you the best in spanking in 2008. Tonight we have the winner and the runner up for Best New Spanking Site and Your Humble Narrator is indeed excited. You see First the sheer volume of nominations that I have received both as comments and email was both humbling and overwhelming. Like Last Year this is indeed not a completely democratic process. I toyed with the idea of doing online voting but I am not entirely sold on the possibility that a small amount of people can’t seriously effect the vote. Unlike last year Your Humble Narrator will not do both the picking and the nomination. No this year Dear Reader you kindly made your feelings known. So, Before we begin just a bit on the rules.
I will be attempting to award these by the popular comments on the nominations. HOWEVER, I will not promise you that Your Humble Narrator will go with the popular vote. If I do not, I will tell you, and I will tell you why. If you disagree then Dear Reader you are more then welcome to post a comment expressing your displeasure with Yours Truly choice. All I ask is that we keep it civil.
All of those niceties aside…
The winner of the 2008 Best New Spanking Site is….. {Drum Roll Please} SPANK MY ROOMMATE!
Spank My Roommate owned and operated by the one and only Clare Fonda hit the Spanking Internet in the Summer of 2008. From there it taken off like an unwitting female getting her bare ass slapped for the first time. This is also new territory for our Dear Clare. she is {sniff sniff} Growing! {I am so proud} Clare who generally sticks to females spanking females has expanded her horizon’s to apply her expert knowledge of spanking where gentleman spankers do a significant amount of the spanking. On Top of that the storyline which centers around Madison Martin and Kay Richards perpetually unable to pay their rent is quite amusing.
Now Dear Reader I will say Right Now that (at least popularity wise) that My Spanking Roommate was indeed the second choice. Unfortunately the one all of you was Spank That Brat and while a very good site. My intent for this category was for pay sites. Unfortunately Your Humble Narrator failed to tell you this when I announced the awards. So it is no one’s fault but my own.
But Fear Not Dear Reader for Abigail and Audrey will not be left out in the cold. Stay tuned to The Spanking Spot to see what awards that they are bequeathed.

Runner Up 2008 Best New Spanking Site: Spank Sinn!
Well My Dear Readers have spoken, The runner up was overwhelmingly picked by You. Chelsea Pfeiffer’s new Hobby Spank Sinn. Now when Chelsea launched this site. I had to ask around the spanking community if there wasn’t anyone in the Mainstream Adult Community that she didn’t know. While there was always some overlap between spanking and mainstream porn. It typically sat more of the fringes of our hobby. Chelsea and Sinn Sage however really smashed that boundary with their Spank Sinn. Now don’t be deluded here Dear Reader. She will not be having stars like Jenna Jamison bent over someone’s knee. But the names are big enough that Your Humble Narrator is more then impressed. Charlie Lane just to name two. Nina Hartley. Plus there is Sinn Herself. While not the hardest spanking site out there its definitely entertaining. I expect great things from Spank Sinn in 2009

But Spank That Brat IS a pay site. Have a look. You can sign up now for $19.95 a month. They may not have an affiliate program, but they are a standard membership site.
Now, I know it is your blog and your awards so you can give them out to whichever sites you please regardless of reader feedback, but you can’t claim Spank That Brat doesn’t fit the category.
I’m a little surprised that you went this route!! Maybe you could have awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd to ensure that you managed to get the other two sites in this post. I didn’t vote because I have my biases being that I have worked with some of the people who would qualify for your awards, but to shut Spank That Brat out and say that it isn’t a paysite I find to be a very unusual comment. I understand why you would do it, which is why I felt you could have added the other 2 sites as 2nd and 3rd to get them in. Even if you was to add ‘Spank That Brat’ as “3rd place” at the bottom of the post and say that it was the readers choice.
Instead of complaining though, I guess I could always do my own awards and post the results of my readers, and of course I didn’t vote so perhaps I have no right to even complain. You wanted feedback though, and there is my honest opinion for you. No disrespect meant to Clare or Chelsea at all, but I think Audrey and Abigail should have at least been recognized with a readers choice award, or a token 3rd place.
