Following my never ending quest to entertain you dear readers I thought about perhaps writing a history article. I have often wondered about the history of our little hobby. Perhaps its simply common sense to punish our women’s supple and beautiful behinds with our hands and various other implements. But that brings the larger question, if this is indeed an erotic fetish how did it originate or was it simply “here”. Spankin with the Ancients Assuming this Chinese custom predates Ancient Greece, The Greeks had a unique solution to sterility in their women. Childless women were to visit the temple of Juno in Athens to be cured by the priests of Pan. Women were forced to lie down on the temple floor and be beaten on the buttocks by a lash made of Goats Hide. Seeing my sister go through fertility treatments I would suggest to you dear reader that the Greek’s method is much less painful. No word of course on its effectiveness. Now dear readers if I had my choice to be re-incarnated during any time in known history I would choose a Roman Citizen. These guys knew how to party. Orgies, Drink, debauchery and the probable prolific smoking of an interesting plant. (Quick History Lesson, for those of you that may not be up on your real History, not the crap they taught you in school. a very large part of Ancient Rome’s economy was based upon Hemp, tell me they never tried to smoke it). But I digress. The Roman’s had a very interesting holiday celebrated on Feb 15 called Lupercalia. Described originally by Virgil in 50 BC. The Festival consists of the Shepard’s of Rome converging themselves in a particular cave, Sacrificing two goats and a dog, Making Thongs from their unfortunate victims hide’s and running through the streets spanking any female that they could get their hands on! I probably could do without the sacrifice or cramming myself in a cave with a bunch of smelly sheep guys, but it does indeed sound fun. After the fall of Rome and the Catholic church took over and decided to Ban all fun (including Lupercalia which was banned in the 5th Century, Darn Christians!) Things looked bleak for the Ancient Spanking Circuit. The Dark Ages Beating of the female’s Buttocks seem to be a popular penance among the clergy. After confession the soon to be victim was shown to the priests quarters, forced to bare her lovely bum and spanked by the lucky priest. (Strokes and implements depending on the sin). In fact sometime around 750 AD there lived a priest named Father Cornelius Adriason who’s spankings were so pervasive that not only did they name the practice after him (Cornelian Discipline) but Pope Adrian the first had to put a stop to them because of the inevitable scandals they caused Which brings us to a rather interesting question dear readers. If Spanking interest is really genetic, do we all descend from sex starved clergy spanko’s? ah but I digress. The Renaissance The French much to our delight took to spanking naughty woman’s bottoms quite enthusiastically. Where many a naughty lady was whipped publicly for her transgressions. In fact the French aristocrats even converted their imported wives. It was reported that the Italian Catherine De Medici and queen of France was quite the spanko. At a banquet in 1577, she made the most beautiful and noble ladies of the court serve half naked. She personally “spanked them on the buttocks with the palm of her hand, with great blows and fairly rough handling.” Sounds like a party to me. Of course the Clergy are stubborn in their ways and now they couldn’t even have sex! Poor Pope Adrian’s attempt to ban the practice obviously was in-effective. Unfortunately the practice was finally ended sometime in the 18th century a Jesuit named Father Jean Baptiste Girard paddled the bottom of one pretty 23 year old Catherine Cadiere. (can you blame the guy?). Apparently after a number of rather hard sessions Ms Cadiere accused her confessor of “seduction, spiritual incest,” witchcraft, and the heretical doctrine of Quietism“. To tell you the truth dear readers I have no idea what the hell that is, but if I get to spank a 23 yr old for thinking impure thoughts you can accuse me of that any day Stay Tuned for Part 2

You’ve got to love DD in history. It’s so thrilling! After all, I think that DD was going around more commonly even back in the days early in my grandmother’s marriage. Just they way that my Grandy talked to her. Wondering if that is where my spanko genes came from???? But I cannot wait for part two!

The actual quote from KJV proverbs 23:13 is: “Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.” Later, in proverbs 29:15, it says “The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.” The “spare the rod and spoil the child” phrase is NOT in the bible.
