I would guess that the site uses mostly, or even exclusively, what is called plugin content, and that the plugin failed for some reason on you.

The idea, originally, with plugins (sometimes also called feeds) is that a paysite supplements their members area and its a bonus. Increasingly, at least as of two years ago when I last looked at them, some less reputable paysites (often a large network you join, getting the other sites free) use mostly plugin content with a few purchased sets and nothing they have shot themselves.

Sadly I’ve seen several of these sites over the years, they generally have no clue what the “spanking niche” is about. Sometimes the people who shot the purchased and rented content didn’t know jack either.
